E.X. Troopers is a spin-off game of the Lost Planet series, it is developed by Capcom and released only in Japan for Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation 3 on November 22, 2012. Siliconera notes "A 4-player co-op shooter featuring manga-style cutscenes, E.X. Troopers was clearly aimed at the Japanese market, while Lost Planet itself is targeted primarily at the west."
